Poor Ginger - when his mate Whisp passed away with lymphoma 18 months ago, he had to remain single as he, along with the rest of my piggies, had put been into quarantine for an un-identifiable respiratory problem. The vet finally lifted the quarantine two months ago and gave the OK for Ginger to seek a new friend

So, two weeks ago, Ginger made a special journey up to Leeds to visit Helen at Bramley Cavies Rescue and go dating....and came back with his new wife Tia, a beautiful petite chocolate aby x) They were completely inseparable during the time at Helen's, all snuggled up together, and I understand that Ginger was also the perfect gentleman (in that he took his new lady friend out to dinner first before trying to get his leg over rolleyes).

Once she got her bearings back here however, Tia soon "donned the trousers" in the relationship and poor Ginger has lost his favourite "platform perch" and is now often left to sleep outside the hidey. He's such a lovely laid back piggie though that he seems quite content and has really perked up having another piggie for company (even a bossy one :))) Tia has been gaining confidence in leaps and bounds and is now perfectly happy being out in the cage whilst I'm walking around. She has been in season recently so Ginger has been able to romance his new wife without getting the normal faceful of wee :red!

Beautiful pigs. I recently adopted 2 girls from Helen, what a fantastic rescue centre she has. Good luck with your piggies xx

She's GORGEOUS! Ah it's lovely to see a pic of her :) are those red eyes or is it just your camera?!

Poor Ginger being ousted from 'the perch', he's such a good boy to take it well though.

Oh I am so pleased that Ginger finally has a friend even if she is feisty. They make a beautiful pair.

Hee hee - she has ruby eyes..(like my lovely boy Iroko who was felled by the respiratory problem at only 22 months old 8... ) so yes it is partly my camera!

I did do a double take there for a minute, haha! She really is lovely and she goes nicely with Ginger, bit like a cadbury's caramel bar :))

Hello Tia you're a very gorgeous piggy and what a gentleman Ginger to let her eat something before having your wicked way :(|)

Yep - from the piccies you;ve seen on my fridge - Tia is a smaller version of Iroko who was a gorgeous chocolate abi

Tia is also almost the spitting image/size of Whisp even down to the white dewdrop on her nose (except Whisp was a black abi...and was also Iroko's mummy..but not by Ginger as he was already neutered before he met Whisp )

So when Helen showed me the sows wishing to go dating, Tia had to be the first choice ...too many co-incidences!

Hi Katie

The most incredible thing about Ginger is he has never been a sexually agressive male in any way! Just a great fun and loving piggie to have around and rarely tries to hump!

My other single boars however (Bailey and Bandit......who were due to go dating this weekend at SuzyGPR;s - but plans have had to be suspended as Bailey has developed a possible ringworm infection)....well to put it bluntly.... both of them are going to need "Suzy's Teddy" :)):))

I'm just so glad that Ginger now has piggie interaction - its made the world of difference to him as he was getting quite depressed and I was becoming quite concerned!

I'm sure Tia will come to really value the lovely piggie she has and I'm hoping she won't take (too much) advantage of him. He's had a rough 18 months (including major surgery and 4 weeks at the vets as an in-patient) and he really now deserves some "piggie luuurrrve"!

It's amazing the difference a good woman can make to a boy!
I know what you mean, Hector is so happy with Matilda. He was going slightly mad, desperate for company, he would squeak his head off and rattle the bars if he couldn't see his neighbour Gerry. He's actually much calmer now, Matilda must of worn him out! lol
I hope it's not ringworm and Bailey and Bandit can find love soon. x

What a lovely wife for Ginger!

You will find that things quieten down once the dominance has sorted and Tia has found her legs. But it is all too often the girls who call the shots... However, I don't think that Ginger will mind too much! :))

Piggie soul mates! What a striking couple they makedrool

CONGRATULATIONS GINGER AND TIA xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I do hope that Tia can give him some loving he's such a gorgeous boy and with what he's been thru! Hoping they have many wonderful years together xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
