Oreo arrived in our home on Tuesday, and today I finally got a couple of pictures of her.

So here she is in all of her 10 week old sweetness.

So far she is proving to be a very feisty little piggie indeed, and the initial introduction to the group was not quite as smooth as I had hoped. Oreo decided to 'actively discuss' leadership roles with our dominant sow Ruby, and this resulted in a lot of fur pulling and teeth chattering on both sides.
I spent a lot of time sitting on the edge of the sofa wearing oven gloves!

But thanks to the excellent support of the forum and the bonding guides on here, we now have a cohesive group, and I have a few more grey hairs.

Eddi and Lucy love Oreo, and have been protective and gentle with her from the start.
Ruby and Oreo have made their peace, but Ruby has not forgotten their initial argument, and is making quite sure that Oreo knows who is boss!

Oreo is small, fast, and a lot of fun to watch.

We already all adore her :luv:

Stunning, and by a strange coincidence.. our new boy is also a gold-agouti and white. Although our new arrival is 8 months old already.

Can't wait to go get him next weekend.

Oreo you are such a pretty girly! No wonder Ruby got upset!

She's so gorgeous!
And I'm glad the introductions went well in the end! x

Thanks everyone.
She is really settled now, and she has also found her voice - that girl is an absolute air raid siren. I swear her wheeks could shatter glass!

I will work on more pictures, but she moves like lightening and so far isn't a fan of having her photo taken.

Sounds like Freyja with the wheeking. Tiny thing but what a big mouth, I swear she is CONVINCED if she does not scream across the house that I might forget her veggies! So glad Oreo has settled well.

We have a new rule in our house. "No one EVER russles any kind of plastic or paper bag", not unless you want Freyja's whistling to deafen you for the next ten mins!

I suspect you'll have the same with Oreo soon enough ;) These loud ones.

Oh she's an absolute beauty @Swissgreys.

I'm pleased your nerves survived the initial introductions - I think I'm usually as tense as the piggies. But I thoroughly approve of your protective wear - oven gloves, a dustpan and a baking tray were all once required to separate a major fight between 2 sows in this house :lol!:

The best part (in hindsight of course) was that i was trying to play the whole thing down to the kids. I explained beforehand that we might see some things which appeared distressing to us, but they were just natural guinea pig behaviours and we shouldn't interfere, etc.
Once it all started getting a bit 'tense' I was convinced I was going to have to intervene so I popped on the oven gloves, and one of the kids noticed and asked why I was wearing oven gloves.
"Oh no reason really - my hands just felt a bit chilly'.
