...at 6am tomorrow morning! (Sunday) We ordered them a while back and they were supposed to be delivered a couple of weeks ago but they didn't make it onto the van. We have ordered a triple 6ft'er and they've custom made it for us with dividers when we get single boys in, as we are hoping to foster for rehoming if needed. All our own boys live inside, but these hutches are a vain attempt to emotionally separate our fosters from us a bit rolleyes

We are expecting our first two temporary residents in a week or so, so it has arrived just in time! Louise at Little Brambles Guinea Pig Rescue uses these types of hutches and we were really impressed with them, so will post pictures soon when they arrive :)

Now all we need is a large enough shed for those winter months...

Hi Fiona, yes we are! Although they seem quite happy in your hutch, we blocked the open sides of the run bit so they could live one up one down!

They should good Julie, can't wait for piccies. Could do with some of them myself for fosters. I know what you mean about getting emotionally attached. You know how we feel about Boomer and also there is Jasper and Ant and Dec who we fostered off Helen and it's difficult to let go.

6am though, you gonna be up at the crack of dawn! :D

Yes, I know Lousie tell me about it! Makes me yawn just thinking about it! I'm amazed that you and Peter managed to actually hand Boomer over to be honest, I know he fitted in rather well with you all there!

We're not going to be calling ourselves a rescue (we're more like a bloomin' sancturary at the moment!), but hope to one day be able to do that on a larger scale, so these hutches are a baby step to attaining that goal!

Haha early night for you tonight then. We are the same, just starting small. It's nice to do more and to take some pressure of the rescues if need be. :)

Did they finally arrive then Julie?

It's a shame you have had to wait so long for them - I guess they are just busy?

Would love an update - and pigtures of course!

PS I think "The Bloomin Sanctuary" has got a nice ring to it LOL

LOL hey yes, The Blooming Sanctuary for Wayward Boars :(|)

We're happy with them, but I'm so pleased you advised against the log lap as this one was so heavy, it's just not funny! We ordered a 7x7ft shed today for them and we are taking in two more piggies which will be up for rehoming next weekend - we're probably going to fill up with our very meagre space quickly!
Will post pics of the hutches as soon as I remember how to download them from the camera...

Hi

Where did you get your custom made hutches from if you don't mind me asking? We're always on the look out for the large hutches that we can partition off as we have so many single boars at the moment. Any recommendation would be great please.....

Thanks Julie,
I know the Ryedale brand . Cheryl from Sprowston Guinea Pig rescue helped me out with a Ryedale double hutch when she recently downsized. They are fantastic hutches, certainly built to last, but I can't afford another at present.
