Finally put my boars together! Just a quick question

Now that I'm confident my little one is all better I have put them together finally and so far so good
I brought my other boar inside before the weather got even colder as my little one cant go outside to spring and he is over 12 weeks old.

There's been no fighting just lots of sniffing. I went on jackiesguineapigs.com too understand the noises they were making and my adult boar always makes the 'rumble' noise ever since they were put together. I expected it for the first day or so but its been almost a week and he still makes that noise. Just wondering why this is.

I think he's just telling the little one who's boss! My females "rumble strut" at each other occasionally just to remind each other where their place in the hierarchy is! rolleyes

Oh so its all to do with dominance then? I heard it can take a while for them to work that out. This is my first time putting guinea pigs together such a relief to not have any problems with them not getting along
