I woke up all excited today as its really sunny and warm 8), ive been waiting for the sun to come out so i can get the boys hutch and grass run out of storage.:(|)

So this morning i was up early getting them both out! I gave the hutch a wipe over as its been in storage for a few months and the run too.:))

I cant wait till 1 o'clock as thats when I'm going to put the boys onto the grass, I'm going to wait until then as it should be nice and warm for them by that time, not that its cold now as i was boiling when i was wiping down the hutch 8;) and I'm comfortable in a tshirt.

The boys are going to be soo happy and i will take photos and post them later on.
I also read that we are going to have a very warm weekend, it said on yahoo that we are going to have the warmest weather of the year so far this weekend! YAY! :(|)

I hope everyone has sun too. :)

Just wanted to share my EXCITEMENT! :(|)

I just put my 10 out now in the runs! They are loving it. It's Mork and Orson's first ever time outside in their lives! I have been giving them picked grass every day for about a week to get their systems used to it. It's so warm here all the doors and widows are open and the kids are out in their t-shirts.

I am doing the cages for the first time all winter with them out of them. It's going to be so easy to clean out today.

Happy happy days!!

Yayyyyy! Good times! :)

Not sure how you're going to manage with an hour and a half left to wait, twiddling your thumbs!

I wish I had some grass :( Contemplating planting grass in the raised beds rather than veggies rolleyes We have two (with nothing in) so each trio could have a bed each!

I'd love to see them all excited on the grass.

I maybe tempted to put them out sooner, but i do need a urine sample off Gizmo first to test it, he seems much better so i hope the septrin is working! :) They will both love going on the grass.
I too have been bringing in grass every day to get them used to eating it again.

Awh :(
Cindy loves being out in the garden, it's too cold where I live though and it looks like it's going to rain. Hurry up dad and kill that moss before the weather gets nice :))

Thanks guys - that's a really good idea. I need to start doing that for mine...sooner rather than later bearing in mind you've promised us a heatwave! ;)

My 2 boys went out in their run today for the first time also. Only had them a few weeks so today was the first fine day.

I put them on the grass to start with but they didn't seem to like it and spent a lot of time in the shelter so I moved the run onto the patio and it wasn't too long before they ventured out. Do you think I should persevere with putting them on the grass?

Yes i would keep putting them on the grass so they can get used to how it feels and i bet as soon as they have a taste and realise its yummy they will love being in their run.

Also dont let them on the grass for too long if they have never seen/eaten grass before as sometimes it can upset their tummies, so limit the time they spend on it at first and once their tummies get used to it they can graze for longer. :)

I put my boys on the lawn today for the first time , they were stood stock still for ages . The two runs were near each other and when one of the girls came out of her pigloo and started eating the boys tentatively had a nibble . Hopefully it will be sunny again tommorow and we can try them outside again . Last year I noticed that bang on 3 pm sleeping piggies get up And have a full on munching session. Was the same today. Maybe 3 pm is guini pig happy hour , before that they just seem to lay about doing nothing.

Thanks for the advice.

Looks like we're set for some mild weather for the next few days so hopefully I shall have them on the grass tomorrow.
