Junior Guinea Pig
Sorry to put a moaning post up, I feel like family, friends and colleagues are sick of being in isolation with me and my guinea pig moans and I know you guys will understand and hopefully cheer me and Maurice on.
Some of you may remember Harold he was part of the pea flake tax office and sadly passed away at the start of March. We hadn't even recovered from loosing Bruno in November but we found Maurice who had been alone in our local rescue for over a year and a half and when he met Harold he didn't even need bonding he loved him and the company so much. So he has also been hit very hard with the loss. So much so I was worried he was becoming unwell he was so lonely so I started to contact rescues and even pet shops ( I know
) anyway lock down has stopped all avenues for us and Maurice is sadly accepting life alone again. We did last week hear back from a pet shop who's breeder has a male if I was still interested. I said no
i want Maurice to have what he had with Harold a lazy partner in crime. Was I wrong to say no? And the lock down is not showing any signs of easing any time soon. I've seen a guinea in my local rescue that has lost his brother while in there and I've been emailing the lady but they are closed so we cannot do anything at the moment. Am I holding on to help this little guy wrongly should I be thinking of Maurice more and not the poor guy that looks identical to him who's also alone!? We do seem to be in a black hole for rescues in Lancashire and I don't want to travel over an hour away I feel that is wrong at the moment. I've been checking the blue cross and RSPCA's sites a few times a day but no males close by
also why do pet shops only sell females? What happens to the males?
