For a long time I have been concerned about Tommy living on his own :{ but, always taken the view that he is too aggressive to live with another piggy. He used to live with Sparky but once he hit puberty he took to kicking Sparkys head in pow-pow. When Harry and Sparky are out having floor time he gets quite aggressive the minute he spies them but then the other week when Harry was out on his own I noticed that Tommy was getting on well with him.

I wasn't planning to have 4 guinea pigs in fact the thought of it nerved me considerably but I need to think of what is best for my boys and if they are happier with a friend then thats fantastic, I don't want them to become lonely or unhappy. Harry and Sparky bonded well and its really helped Harry and I ften wondered if it would do the same for Tommy castration and adding a female is out of the question because I don't want to cause ructions between Harry and Sparky.

Anyway in two weeks time they are going to Michelle.Pawz while I go to Italy and she has very kindly offered to try and bond Tommy with a single male piggy called Bob and now the idea of having 4 has really grown on me and I have fell in love with Bob x), here he is http://pawzforthought.org/othergallery.asp?index=12 he is 9 months old and born in rescue so please keep your fingers crossed that Tommy and Bob will get on well together and provide each other with companionship and friendship.
 
Wanda I have told you to have faith in me. You will come back from Italy and they will be snuggled up together x)
 
AWWW - Bob is sooo sweet! Is he one of the babies resulting from the big RSPCA rescue? He has a similar face and age to my own aby "baby" Telyn, daughter of Taffy.

Fingers crossed that the boys will get on! x)

That will be fantastic I'll be wanting my Italy holiday to over quickly so I can meet him, I have faith in you its just I know what a little yob Tommy can be though he is so cuddly with me.

His mammy was from the rescue and he was born at Pawz. Our piggy re homing is always really slow as Pawz was originally known for cats and dogs.

I thought there was a "family" theme going with the white jaw, the distinctive twirl on the top of the head and the very pert nose! ;)

This is Telyn on the right, with her mummy Taffy. Telyn was born at the very end of last June, from the first batch of the Gretna RSPCA babies born there.

Telyn also had a cousin born at Helen's with nearly the same face, but a ginger backend.

It would be lovely if Bob would stay "on the forum", so we can follow his fortunes!

Before I head to Italy Tommy will get a very serious talking to that he has to be a good boy and accept Bob as his friend and not kick his head in

Thanks I am sure that he will be a great addition to my gang, my holiday will be extra special as my sister is getting married out there and not only am I her bridesmaid I am also walking her down the aisle and giving her away.

Well we don't have a bonded pair for Wanda getting back from her hollies. I only started bonding on Monday evening and I feel its going to take a while for Tommy to accept a friend. In the meantime we have to watch him strut around rumbling while poor Bob sits looking confused to why Tommy doesn't want to play with him :(

Once Tommy works out Bob doesn't want to be in charge we can make progress but until then its very slow progress.
 
Rats! Whats the plan of action Michelle, I thought Tommy would be difficult to bond with another pig, do you think that (eventually) Tommy will accept Bob as a friend. Poor Bob, I so want to be his new mummy.
 
He is calming down. I think with time it will work we just got to keep at it. I will see you tonight anyway and we will get them out.
 
Update: Bob is coming home with me tonight but will be living in a seperate cage next door to Tommy and the bonding will continue at mine. Pictures will follow
 
Hope you have a lovely time- I was born and brought up in Italy and my parents still live there- its my home really, just north of Rome on Lake Bracciano. Enjoy! Just also wanted to say I LOVE your pic of your boy at the computer! Brilliant! lol
 
We have turned a corner tonight and its looking good. Going to take a time as Tom has been by himself for so long but he is warming to Bob x)
