I wanted to make sure they could have good zoomies. Bunbuns is 10ft long x 4ft wide and 5ft high, plenty of space for him to bound around (He's only a small bun). We are going to add some shelves and toys etc.

There will be most excellent zoomies in there! The buns one looks wicked. Did you guys build them from scratch or buy them and do them up?

We bought the basic new 3ftx2ft panels on ebay and painted them, then used them to built the pens :)

Remind us how many piggies do you have?

5 piggies :) (hopefully 6 within the next few months)

I am in envy of those that can use a screwdriver and a hammer..... I am a failure at anything manual

We can just about use them, and cable ties (my best friends!). Give Duncan a computer or anything technological and he's a wizz.

I have 5 too. I put mine in time share so the grass doesn't get ruined (2 boys 1 day, 3 girlies next day) my run is 180cms x 76cms. I'm now worried it isn't big enough. Especially when I put all 5 in on cleaning out day! Any advice welcome!

I think your run size is fine. I have enough lawn to move the run around if the grass gets low. I have only given them so much space because I can, it doesn't mean yours is too small :)

Phew! Pleased about that. When I bought it last year it was for two (At the time I didn't realise I had bought a guinea pig with 3 on board!) I bought a larger one than I would have normally cos I wanted the extra space for them to do zoomies and popcorns - glad I did now! I put an old single duvet on mine (fits perfectly on the apex roof) so the piggies don't feel threatened.Piggie run.webp

Thanks! Boys are out today, girlies tomorrow. The red tunnel is a recent addition as is the stick playhouse (the other one is in the playpen in the double decker hutch). There is also an old twiglets tube in the hutch too. My son picked up the bit of 4" pipe off a skip when he was working on a building site last summer to get some dosh in for uni! I have a strawberry house arriving in a day or so. Not sure whether that will be in the hutch or the run though. If its a hit will buy another. I have also invested in 2 heat pads as mine are outside piggies (not heard of them before joining this wonderfully informative forum) which should arrive next week.

My only concdern is how often I will have to wash the strawberry hutches? I understand that they have a removeable pad inside. Do I need to put vinegar in when I wash the pad?

I don't wash the huts every time, just the pads inside. I have needed to use vinegar yet.

That's great thanks. I have a friend who is a dab hand with the sewing machine (I and knit virtually anything! and I haven't failed to teach anyone - yet, I can't sew for a toffee though!) so I may ask her to make me another couple of fleecy pads so its one in the wash one in the hut.

What a lovely guinea pig run. Great size. The rabbit set up looks great too although beware the digging rabbit (or fox) on an open bottomed run.

Will your wabbit be getting a friend?

Thank you for the advice. He's a house bunny, so will only being going outside in his run when we can supervise him, so we'll keep an eye on the digging. He's only 10 weeks old at the mo (roughly) so once he is neutered at 6 months we plan on going to a rescue to bond him with a neutered female. He came to me after being found wandering the streets. He was taken to my vets to recover and try to find his owner but no one came forward, so I adopted him :)

Aww ten weeks old. How lovely that he came to you. Definately landed on his feet there!
