I'm having an induction tomorrow at a local animal sanctuary and am feeling nervous. I think the memory of my interview last week is coming back to me and I feel like I'm going to another one.

I have no idea what to expect, could anyone give me some ideas?!

I'm just being shown round tomorrow but can stay longer if I like, I'm happy to get my hands dirty and also hope to have some cuddles :))

aww bless, if its just an induction they will surely just show you round, show you who is who, what goes where etc and fire escapes blah blah blah

Then, you can have some cuddles, itll be fun, enjoy it!

I have recently started volunteering at the rescue place near me and I LOVE it! Ok, its basically what I do at home anyway (cleaning, feeding etc) but its sooo rewarding :D

Well done you !

I dont know what you'll expect but it shouldnt be too informal.

Just try and relax and have fun, any volunteering work should be peasurable

And please let us know how you get on :)p

I'm kinda nervous excited. I hate doing any thing new, well not hate it. I just get nervous. When I get going I'm a right chatterbox cos of the nerves! :))

:x:x:x

I'm the same, i would try to make people laugh with totally inappropriate rude quotes or innuendos, only i would find funny! :{

Ooooh... exciting. Have a lovely time.

My first day volunteering included lots of piggy cuddles. Now, I do anything and everything. :)

Hehe, me too! I've lost count of the amount of embarrassing things I've said!

I end up running to the loo, and talking too much, I think we are all the same :))

I always think other people are so much 'together', but I dont think it's true at all. :)

Hi guys!

Yesterday went well, I was only there for half an hour but am going back next Fri to help with the rabbits.

They have well over a hundred as took part in the Horsford rabbit rescue a couple of months ago. They have lots of New Zealand whites that were bred for eitherpet shops or meat 8..., they desperately need rehoming and I've strictly been told not to bring any home, hehe! Made me so sad though, they all look so sad too.

I wish I had lots of money and a massive garden, I'd never work and spend all day looking after animals in my garden! :))

awww poor things....good on you for doing it, I'm not sure i could, i would just be too soft and cry all the time.

Oooo sounds like you had a lovely day! I'm thinking you'll have a new pet by the end of the week....? :))

rolleyes I actually cheered myself up on the way home and got Alan & Barry a bigger run for the garden. It was so cute I was watching them popcorn from the upstairs window, they act so cute when they think no one is watching!

Also a bit too brave where the ginger cat next door is concerned as they were almost nose to nose thru the cage. I ran down the stairs as fast as my legs would carry me despite the fact it wasa very secure run and I'd put bricks and a step ladder on the top, hehehe!

glad your enjoying it (: i volunteer at my local rabbit rescue but end up snuggling the guinea pigs for most of it :)) and am actually rehoming an oap from there soon i think

Awwwww! bless! I love watching my boys with new toys....:))

I've had to put garden mesh all the way round our run as the neighbours cats could get their paws right through the run aggh! We have eight in our neighbourhood and all of them turned up in our garden!

Aww, how sweet. I don't think I could take any more buns but wouldn't be able to resist piggys. They're so cuddly!

Yes we have lots! our little cul de sac there are 6 houses, 3 sets of semi's and there are about 6 cats! Plus a little rotter who comes from over the road, is very street wise and also extremely fertile.,..! He is an evil puddy and has his eye on my piggys. I never get anything done when they're outside as I'm always out there or watching thru the window! @)
