The weather was at last good enough for a short bit of outside time for Morse and Lewis on Saturday. They are now 9 months old and are beginning to bulk up a bit. They are now just short of 1kg each.

Anyway, I put them on the patio in the sunshine and seemed happy enough. Then I thought, why not put them on the grass and see how they like it. We haven't given them any grass so far, just hay. I moved them onto the grass and they totally didn't get what the grass was at all. I then tore some up myself and offered it to them. They didn't take it. It was like "what the heck is that?". Then for some reason they just started to eat the grass as if they hadn't eaten for a week. They couldn't get enough of it. It was lovely to see. Didn't leave them on the grass for long because I didn't want to disturb their stomachs to much. As it turned out they were fine. Put them outside again on Sunday and they loved munching the grass. I think we need a better outside run for them, one that is cat proof so we can leave them outside during the day in the summer time. I think they'll love it. :)

Lucky piggies to get the first nice grass of the year.

Awhh thats lovely! I let mine out on Saturday when we had a brief spell of sunny weather too! You can actually see where the run has been they ate soo much grass lol.

I have to go round the garden at work after I finish so I can pull up grass for them to eat. I normally fill a whole carrier bag and just empty it straigt into the cage when I get home. It's got so they won't eat their dinner till they see the grass! They know the rustle of the bag and they wheek like mad when they hear it.

It's no where hot enough in the North East where we live so our girls will probably not be out on the lawn till next month unless we suddenly have a big rise in temp. It was only 6 degrees yesterday. They go on the lawn in a purpose built foldaway cage similar to the one in this link which is only £29.99 inc. postage.

We're using ours indoors bonding our new girl Minnie with our other 3 piggies. She's currently in with Minky.
