Hi all!

My husband and I will be aquiring a pair of female piggies next month, we have two bunnies but have never had piggies. I'm researching and reading up before the girls before they arrive but wouldn't mind some advice and tips.

Thanks in advance!

P.s I'm aware that bunnies and piggies don't mix.

My advice is have a read of our stickys, the main things to do (before you get the piggies) Is to sort out their housing, and we have a very good housing section with stickys showing other peoples set ups :)

Hi Roo and Dilbert welcome to the forum :)
Good on you for doing your research first!
As Connie said have a look thru our stickies (the threads up the top of each section) and please feel welcome to ask questions at anytime.
You might like to look thru the food list too you'll find that both piggies and buns have some things they both like, but others can be quite harmful to piggies.
I'd also suggest finding out if your vet treats cavies...... having a cavy savvy vet is essential as most aren't sure of our little ones.
Another thing this forum loves.......PIGTURES drool so when your girlies arrive please pop on some in our stories/photo's section,

Glynis, Velvet and Onyx x

Thanks for your responses, the piggies are coming with a cage which i'm told has been RSPCA approved size wise for two pigs, they will be indoor pigs with access to a run outdoors in warmer weather.

Thanks for the pointers on food i'll go and have a nosey round.

We are hoping to pick them up on the 24th March and will post piccies asap!

Thanks again for your help x

As long as the cage is 120x60cms, Then your all set! :) Only thing you may want to think about is what goes in the cage... hideys, tunnels, food bowls etc :)
