Well, today is the day... The piggies have been with me for a month and I'm nowhere near potentially sorting out their nails on my own. Bo is the only one I can pick up and he is of course the only one with black nails. Sooo, vet visit it is. I figured it would also be a good "dry run" with the vet close to me so that I know if I feel comfortable bringing them there if anything goes wrong for real.

The cat transport has been in their cage for 2 days, looking safe and friendly but I'm still a little worried they'll be stressed and scared. At least it's not cold. It's the mildest November EVER here.

So please cross all fingers and paws that we will have an uneventful time at the vet :)

Good luck, and fingers crossed for you! They will either be really good and sit their like butter would not melt in their mouths or they will wheek blue murder :)

Best of luck!

They will be either angels or devils with nothing in between... :))

If possible, I never take a guinea pigs on its own; they are a lot less stressed in company. Talking to them constanly also helps to reassure.

Thanks for the reassuring words! I'm bringing all three together in one carrier so at least that's good. I only wonder how the vet will get especially Vilda and Martha out of it... But I guess they're pros. The vet is thankfully only a five minute walk from my flat

I'm so happy it went really well! I bribed them into the carrier with cucumber and got them there just fine. Then they set aside two people, one for holding and one for clipping. I felt very comfortable with them (the piggies might disagree) as they were kind and professional and they showered the piggies with compliments on their good looks and behaviour making me very proud. I'm so glad I decided to go to the vet instead of doing it on my own. The best invested 20£ in years...

well done, glad they behaved nicely, do you think you will have a go next time?

awwwwwww so glad they were all well behaved :):):)
Great idea to do a 'dry run' at least now you'll confidence if you have to visit for some other reason (paws crossed you don't have to tho!!)

No, I think I'll go there for manicures for a while, at least for the two girls who are scared to be picked up. Might try Bo sometime in the future though... when I get braver. But if I get more pigs I might get too cheap and feel more motivated to be brave :p
