So these are our new rescue piggies, Fitz and Roy, we picked them up on Friday but already feel like we've had them forever.

Fitz is totally relaxed once he's out of the cage, not phased at all by the kids and will happily take food from my daughters hand after just a couple of days with us, Roy is a lot more skittish, so I'm avoiding handling around the kids too much for now, and am trying to give him cuddles when the kids are in bed, or my youngest is napping,to get him more relaxed, however today when I got Fitz out and took him into the lounge he was shouting like mad for him so I brought him through and they cuddled up together on my lap- he seems much happier when he has Fitz right next to him and constantly snuggles up next to him in their cabin.

So cute!

AWWW - they are a gorgeous pair! I am sure that Roy will come out of himself a lot more soon with Fitz' example.

I have found that it helps at cuddle time to have a nervous customer together on the lap with a chilled out piggy.

Thanks Wiebke, that's what I did yesterday and he seemed more relaxed as he had Fitz to snuggle upto.

I've also ordered an indoor pen to put in the lounge, so that they can get more used to being right in the middle of us in the day, in the evenings I can let them run free, but our lounge is far too hazardous with the little people around, so the pen should give them some protection whilst getting them used to us, I hope that way Roy will be able to see more of us and will relax more. That being said he's actually more confident in the cage, and is the first to come out when I go to put food in- this morning as soon as they spotted me appear and start getting the kids breakfasts ready they sat by their food bowls waiting for veggies, as they've learnt already that I give them something first thing.
