Flakes and scabbies

Yep defo, totally agree with Fi, it won't go on its own. Granted it may ease down but it will come back. And in all honesty and not meaning to scare but mites can kill. Mange mites are the worst as far as I am aware (correct me if I am wrong) it won't hurt to treat him now for mites. :)

We are keeping a close eye on him. We're going back in 2 weeks. He's been good today and the scabbies are healing. I haven't found new ones. he's happy and has a good apetite.

Update

bathed Bertie tonight with Coconeem melt, manuka and Neem shampoo and finished with cocoa and lavender cream. x>>

There are no more scabbies and far fewer, smaller flakes. We are going back to the vets on Friday and we'll see what happens then. he's still eating good and drinking good too. I am not worried about that.

Should I give Finlay the same treatment just in case? ?/?/?/

Well, the coconeem melt didn't wash well so I had to bathe B again the next day cos he just stank and his hair was sooooo greasy. :)>>>:)>>>:)>>> he had the Herbal Essences treatment and his hair is all shiny, fluffy and smells better. :) As for scabs, they've healed and we couldn't find flakes this morning at the vets.

He's lost 100g since Rene's death though on 3rd Nov (he seems to be eating well) and his poos still come in 2s, 3s or mores. This is still worrying us but the vet said it's all fine. Any ideas? ?/?/

Pigs tend to lose weight when not well. He could just be depressed or there might be something else. Pigs are good at hiding illness.

As for his poops the only thing I can say is maybe he is getting too much 'wet' veg, does he get a lot of greens or spinach, or maybe tomato? They can give wet poops. Maybe try him on just hay/dry food for a couple of days and monitor?

Not any more greens as usual. but I could try that. his vitapoos can be hit and miss in consistancy. I look every day and never allow any big blobs to form. None of the vets who've seen him thought it was impaction.

He lost his friend 2 months ago today and has a new baby friend who's really lively. So that might be a reason why he's a bit off colour. Other than that he's just the same as normal.
