To be honest I wouldn't use any kind of spray on pigs. Not good for their lungs.
Can guinea pigs get fleas?

I do not use sprays either.,and no,gps cannot get fleas. Can you see wriggly in the hair?if so,this is lice.,and the best way to get rid of them is to use a shampoo containg Neem. These are available from a health food shop.Make sure the product you choose does not contain parabens or sles.

Is the dry skin in patches, are there any scabs and is the pig scratching a lot?..It may have mites in which case a trip to the vet for Ivermectin will be called for.Do not let the vet inject this,it is now available in a topical form.

there are no scabs and they are not scratching ?? can it just be dry skin ??

Sorry about all the questions but it is difficult to make any diagnosis without seeing a gp.

Where on your piggy is the dry patch,is it just one dry patch?.is there any white scurf.

No if you can help that will be great..

Just the one patch...and nothing on it

thanks

O.k. Try olive oil or a moisturizing cream based on lavender.Make sure the moisterizer does not contain parabens or sles. or any petrochemical product. The olive oil is probably the best.I use this for my gps quite often. It is good if the pads are a bit dry as well

I have the GG's lavender shampoo aswell will that help

Is it just dry skin, is this a normal thing....my other GP's dont have it

Thank you for all your help and advice

xx

It could be the oil shampoo that is causing the dry skin.Essential oils are very strong and this particular pig could be a bit allergic to them.Try the olive oil on the dry patch and do not bath the gp unless it is for a medical reason, such as scurvy skin caused by mites.I do not bath my gps routinely,it is not necesary and it dries the skin.If I have a gp with a wet or mucky bottom,I just wash the back end, there is no need for a full bath.Remember that people who sell these shampoos will recommend routine bathing because they want to sell the products.

My landlord ended my tenancy because he said guineas have fleas.

I have a letter from the vet saying this is rubbish.

I'll be glad to leave anyway. Stupid git.
