Fleece advice (I know, another thread!)

Yeah it is more, but maybe with it being microfibre, it would last longer and absorb better? I'm not sure. Plus it's bigger than the ikea ones.

But if those will be fine, then I can use those.

So I will line the bottom of the cage with newspaper to begin with, then a few towels, then the fleece?

How does everyone else get on with theirs? How often does it need washing?
 
I use various fleeces I've got the ikea 1 & a few of the ones from poundworld which are thicker. Other members reccommend the asda ones so next time I go there I'll buy one to try. I shake the poo off twice a day at feeding time.They get changed twice a week unless they are very stained or wet. I have a handbrush with a rubberised head to take off the worst of the hay/hair...I then give them a quick wash in the sink then bung them in the machine for a proper wash.I've been putting them on the radiators to dry.
 
please be careful what fleece you buy - there are alot of cheap ones out there and the dye they use can be hatrmful to piggies if they end up chewing it, and also some fleeces can be easily chewed up/fray and this could choke your piggy.
 
I've found that the ikea ones are a bit thin, and don't really make for a nice cosy bed. The best fleece I've got is one I got from au natural, it's lepoard print and big! It's super awesome at draining right through onto the towels and the newspaper under neath, I find it never feels damp where the Ikea ones I need to change more often because they seem to soak more in. =S

So just experiment with what you find, I always find keeping an eyeout for cheap fleeces and seeing how they go. But as moonie said, watch out for ones with cheap dye and poorly made ones.
