I bought a cage for Lara after she came home with me from a friend who didn't want her. Lara's cage was around $95 US Dollar and her fleece bed was around $20 US Dollar. She has Carefree bedding in her cage currently.

The problem is she is not sleeping in her fleece bed. She is sleeping on the cage floor on the Carefree bedding. I am guessing this is probably because she is used to sleeping on the floor of a playpen when she lived at the friend's house.

My concern is that Lara might be cold at night because she isn't sleeping in a warm fleece bed but instead on the floor. So I have to get fleece bedding to cover the entire floor for Lara.

I have never used fleece bedding before because my boy Finn sleeps in his warm fleece bed and his cage has Carefree bedding.

She shouldn't be cold unless she's a skinny pig or she's outside. Is your house getting cold? It might even be too hot for her and that's why she isn't sleeping in there.

I have central heating and cooling throughout the entire house with thermostat set at consistent temperature so there is not much temperature change inside the house despite what the weather is like outside. I live in Michigan, US.

My boy Finn sleeps on his fleece bed all the time, but Lara doesn’t so I am left to wonder if she is cold at night. I am just comparing between the two, Finn and Lara. I raised Finn from when he was a baby. Lara was unwanted by a friend so I got her two days ago.

I wouldn’t worry if she chooses not to sleep on the fleece, she might not want to :)
Does she have an area full of hay she can sleep in if she chooses? Or what about a fleece bed rather than a full fleece lining?

Lara has a fleece bed I bought for her, which she chooses not to sleep in and instead she sleeps on the floor. So, I am considering a fleece lining that will cover her entire cage. She has Carefree bedding in her cage currently.

Before she came home with me, when she used to live at friend’s house, she used to live in a playpen and slept on the floor. Also, her playpen didn’t have anywhere to hang a hay rack or securely hang a water bottle. So, as soon as I brought her to my home, I bought her a cage so I can hang a water bottle and a hay rack.

Piggies like to nestle into hay also, so I would suggest putting a pile of hay on the floor for her also and not just in a hay bag.

I am looking into getting a fleece liner for Lara. I think she will be more comfortable with fleece liner in her cage since she doesn’t sleep in her fleece bed.
I don’t believe my boy Finn will need fleece liner because he sleeps on his fleece bed already. His Carefree bedding works well so I will continue to use Carefree bedding for Finn.

I was able to get fleece liners for Lara, so she won't be using Carefree bedding anymore. I put puppy's pee pad underneath her fleece liner so it will be very absorbing. I bought 150 puppy's pee pads so I will be using those in Lara's cage, and in the playpen.

Now I don't have to worry whether Lara is sleeping in a cozy, warm fleece bed anymore. She will be warm even if she chooses to sleep on the floor.

Lara ran around the playpen for about two hours today. She also got her three servings of veggies today along with my boy Finn. She is getting used to getting three servings of veggies everyday.
