I have recently put fleece bedding down and my pig seems to be nibbling it ? Is it safe to continue using fleece or should I wait it out. Thanks !

Your piggy is trying to burrow in the fleece! Just plop a small towel in the cage so that your guinea pig can burrow.

They are very cute when they burrow! It’s like they think we can’t see them, and they think it is a very successful hiding spot :shh:. And maybe it is, because eventually another piggy ends up trodding on the burrowing piggy “by accident”...

It’s amazing what piggies try to eat yet don’t come to any harm!
I use Vetfleece and I’ve found nibbled areas - no guilty piggies present at the time! I’ve found them chewing the floor mats I’ve laid to keep their feet warm in the runs. I’ve caught them trying to chew holes in plastic hay bags! Just being piggies!

They may enjoy chill n chew mats. I got some from zooplus and some of my lot enjoy a good old munch on them.

You can just the the mat next to the wicker tunnel on the left

Also hay trays (under bed storage boxes) make great places for them to burrow.

Wish Flossie Bun and Nevis would stick to the ones I buy them! They’ve everything! but my dining room chairs are too tasty to resist! I’ve tried all sorts of deterrents but nothing stops them, Then when I looked at them on CCTV just now and they’re lying side by side on the carpet my heart just melts!
