Hi everyone, a week ago I bought a new fleece, and I handwashed it twice (without softener), but when I pour the water onto it as a check, the water mostly passes through, but the fleece stays wet. Do you think I should wash it a couple of times more?

How much water did you pour on? Even with a small guinea pig pee it doesn't dry instantly. Was it in contact with the absorbent layer when you poured the water on?

I tried putting the towel under the fleece and as I said, the water passed through but the fleece seemed very wet. I'm afraid when my piggy wees on it, it'll start smelling because it doesn't dry that fast :(
Also, I pored about as much as my piggy would wee

Personally I would start using it and just see how it goes. The fleece feels wet if I touch it immediately after a pig has weed on it but it is dry soon after.

Alright, thanks anyways

Can you not wash it in a washing machine a few times ? Did you use non bio wash powder? A cheap one from aldi will be fine cos thats what i use.. some fleece takes a few washes..

Sure, today I washed it in a washing machine, now I'm waiting for it to dry to see the results. Also, I used a typical cheap washing powder. But after the piggy wees on it, it always needs some time to dry, right?

Hmmm I guess it will be wet as soon as they have done a wee... I have never felt it to be honest.. so long as it does soak through it should dry.. good luck!

I wash mine a few times before use, I wash it with the piggies dirty washing as not to waste water and powder as it’s going to get fur all over it eventually anyway then when it’s dry I pour a bit of water on a section and come back in 15 minutes to see how dry it is or if the water is still sitting on top and if it’s still quite wet I chuck it back in with the next piggy load. Some fleece I find will take a couple of washes and some will take “forever” to wick.
