I'll be making my piggies some fleece liners over the next week or so but I was wondering, when it comes to liners, how big is too big? What I mean is when it comes to washing. I heard 6x2 is too big to wash properly. So what's the biggest I should make?

I would make 2 x 3 C&C size as they will fit in your washing machine easier and also easier to sweep the hay off too or a 2 x 4 cc and then have a hay area using a large hay tray or use garden plant trays
If you make them a few centimetres larger to cover any shrinkage

As someone who has made them and uses them I’d say 2x3 is very manageable, 2x4 is more challenging to make and for me personally I find sweeping and getting the hay off can get tiresome as they are heavy, although this size will fit in the washing machine and was as big as I’d go when Selling them 😊

Thank you 😊

Rather than start a new thread I'll ask here. I have zorb to make some liners out of, I know how to do that. I also have a mattress protector. Is it ok to use on its own with fleece or do I need to add an absorbent layer?

I use a mattress protector and then wrap fleece around it. I have them as separate pieces as they're easier for washing and I have an overlockerto stop the protector pieces fraying. I also use pee pads (mattress protector and fleece sewn together) and bath mats on top to make the main fleece last a bit longer.

The only problem I've had is that the protector pieces do shrink despite washing them using the manufacturer's instructions. Even when I've cut them oversized by a decent amount, they've ended up being a tad too short for the cage after a couple of months. 🤦
