Hi there, I am going to put fleece in my boys (Rodney & Alan) outdoor hutch never used it before so hopefully they will like it. Is it best just to use it in living area rather than bedding as they will need hay to keep them warm in the bed area. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

My girls are on fleece in an outside hutch. I have it in the floor space and I have news paper underneath and just shake the poops out daily and change the fleece and paper when needed to.

I have news paper and a combination of hay and straw in the bedroom bit to keep them warm.

Haven't had any problems yet and the fleece is nicer for them to walk on than newspaper or sawdust

I think I may try this, how often do you change the fleece - does the newspaper get wet underneath? I use newspaper in living area and newspaper and hay in bed area in outside hutches and am changing them 3 times a week and find that the wooden floors are rotting.

You could line the hutch with correx or lino to keep the Wood dry then it would wipe clean

The fleece needs washing on a hot wash every 3 days to kill bacteria etc. I use puppy pads underneath fleece and they are binned at the same time. But newspaper also works well if you change it every couple of days.

In pound land they do like stick on vinal floor tiles, 4 in a pack and ive lined the bottom of the hutches with these tiles and they are perfect! Just like a kitchen floor, I wipe them down with a wet soapy cloth and its made everything so much easier!

I change the fleece every 3 days but shake it out every day. The newspaper does get wet so I chuck it away every other day and put new down under the fleece. It works really well for me, hope it does for you :)
