So i make my own cage liners and was wondering - with this hot weather we have had whether a cotton topped one would feel cooler for them?

Thinking of making some, with the same absorbent middle etc just the top in cotton not fleece - but I imagine the wee wouldn't soak through? Has anyone ever tried such a thing or is it a dumb idea - i was awake several times last night and this was one of the things in my head

I don’t have any experience of cotton but I would imagine that the wee wouldn’t be wicked away like with fleece and the cotton would stay damp on the top!

It won’t soak through. I made the boys some cuddle sacks a while back which had cotton on the outside and fleece inside. They decided they preferred to sit on top, and promptly wee’d all over the cotton. It was damp so I had to take it out 🤷🏾‍♀🤦🏾‍♀️

:agr:

I made some cotton tunnels with an absorbent layer and they were a disaster -soaking and stinky much quicker than fleece.
Plus the piggies didn't really like them.
