Fleece liners

Hi all. I'm new here so wasn't sure where to put this. I'm wanting to make some fleece liners for my piggies but I'm struggling to find what to use as the absorbant layer. The mattress toppers I'm finding are all polyester and towels aren't big enough unless I make a couple to overlap in the cage. It's a 6x2 c and c. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I bought some reusable bed incontinance pads to put under my fleece, but I have everything separate ie not sewn into a big liner. Others use puppy pads, newspaper and towels. In the US they use uhaul blankets and I think you can get them here too. I make pads for my cages and use wadding as the padding but this doesn’t hold the pee, it wicks away through the fleece into the inco pad beneath. I’m sure others will be on to let you know what they use. You could try looking on you tube too as there are many tutorials for making liners that might give you some ideas.
 
I use a terry mattress protector as a base for their play pen - totally forgot about that. Hope it work well.
 
Hi I make my own fleece liners and have used the washable incontinence bed pads as the middle layer... I have also used micro fibre wash cloths - sewn together to make a larger size. Towels are a bit heavy when all sewn together. Good luck!
 
i used waterproof mattress protectors (including the terry towel one) and they work perfectly fine.

Can I ask what you use as a bottom layer please? Always looking to make things easier if possible!

I just use fleece, usually a plain one so it's easier to identify when sewing together! so 3 layers in all, fleece, absorbent layer then fleece..
