Hi, recently I've spent SO much money on puppy pads and bedding for my pig cage. I'm looking at fleece liners and was wondering if they are a good choice. Do you just machine wash them? The ones I'm looking at are Geegoods Guinea pig cage liners. They have good reviews but just wanted to double check. Thank you!

Yes fleece liners are good. Mine were on fleece when living inside. I also used bath mats on top and changed them every 2-3 days depending where they were. This meant the liner lasted up to 6/7 days before I’d need to change it fully. If the liner doesn’t have something absorbent underneath then you will need to put something under it - puppy pads (washable or disposable) or something that can wick the wetness away from the surface.

With washing you should get a horse wash bag. Or you can use a pillow case and tie it at the end. This stops the majority of hay and hairs going into the washing machine. How you dry it will depend on the washing instructions if you buy one ready made. I made my own and used to pop them in the dryer.

Ours are mainly on fleece; kitchen area is megazorb as I find it much easier to keep clean and not smelly until the big cage clean once a week. As Siikibam has already suggested, we also use bath mats and washable pee pads in high traffic areas that we change every 1-3 days. We change the main liners every 7 days. It‘s just important that your liners wick away the pee so you don’t end up with pee puddles. Washing it a few times might help with that; fully depending on your liner, though. :)
