Which one is better to use? I am currently using bedding and have to clean the wet spots daily. Is fleece better?

I generally prefer fleece, as it may be expensive at first but will save you alot of money in the long run. As fleece can be washed and reusable for each cage clean. Instead of spending alot of money constantly buying bags of bedding. Fleece can be alot more comfortable on guinea pigs feet also.

I prefer fleece over bedding. I used to buy a bag of bedding each week, which cost me $10. With fleece, I just wash it once a week, which saves me money. I also find it easier to spot clean with fleece :)

I’ve just moved back onto bedding from fleece and am loving it! I can take out just the wet patches without replacing the whole floor, and it’s lovely not having the endless washing of fleece/towels.

I think it is a personal choice and you need to consider lots of factors.

Is everyone ok about you using the washing machine for guinea pig stuff?
Time, cost, mess?
Are your piggies indoor or outdoor and what cage set up are you using?

I used to use Auboise but switched to fleece and love it, but I also appreciate that it isn't for everyone.
Maybe try a basic fleece set up for a few weeks and see how you get on before making or buying proper liners?

Our guide ot fleece bedding is here:
A Detailed Guide For Fleece Bedding

I personally prefer fleece, so much easier to spot clean. The pigs have their own dustpan and brush and it only takes a few mins to do a 2x8 cage and sweep up the poops! I use lots of hay (cat litter) trays which get changed out every other day and they do most their business in those, it has newspaper and then pine cat litter then hay in it.

I worry about illness a lot with my pigs so I want to minimise bedding getting in their bits or dust causing respiratory issues as shavings are so dusty even if they’re extracted. My friend uses it for her buns and when I’ve looked after them I feel like I need a mask aha. I’ve heard other bedding is better like fitch, auboise and hemp are a lot better but I’ve never actually used them myself.

I love fleece but you do have to consider the washing and drying aspect of it. I am lucky that I can wash mine in a horse wash bag at the local launderette with no problems ( the lady there is lovely and doesnt mind but there are no hairs left in the machine afterwards ) My own washing machine can't cope with fleece so i would say its about £10-£15 a month cost wise for that. But my fleece liners are still going strong 3-4 years on so I don't mind that. Drying in winter is a pain but i have several sets so no mad rush if it takes a few extra days to dry.
I have 2 girls in a 5 x 2 C&C Cage..

Aubiose gets dusty when moving large amounts of it (I put mine in a 60l box) but I've never had problem with dust when cleaning the cage, it's easy to breathe up close to it and it smells nice but very faint :) I've never been able to use fleece cause my pigs pee all over it and try to burrow in it, I don't like that you can't remove the bits they pee on without hindsight, each to there own though

In high traffic areas (under hides etc) I have vet bed squares so I can change them out if they get damp but we don’t really have that as they do most their business in the hay trays thankfully! :)

I've tried that, they seem to pee anywhere a pad isn't, I think they know it's an inconvenience...

I prefer fleece just because it saves you money and if you think about it its more comfortable and dust-free for your guinea pig.
