Fleece Without A Sewing Machine?!

i'm starting to set up my c&c cage for when this lovely mild weather finally vanishes and autumn kicks in, and am now in fleece territory. i don't have a sewing machine or one available to use to make my fleece cage liners, so would i be able to use wonderweb/iron on hemming stuff instead? would it stand up to repeated washing on high temperatures? also, would it be ok to just use a waterproof mattress protector (does anyone have an recommendations or are the ones below fine?) with a layer or two of fleece on top as the main cage liner? sorry for all the questions, but i'm a new c&c convert and want to get it right!

@KittyandNancy used hemming web I believe. Normal puppy pads or incontinence pads will do the trick. Also towels.

I just line my hutch with newspaper, towel on top and then fleece on top of that - no sewing required!

You need to have something absorbent under the fleece other wise the fleece will stay wet so not plastic. Cotton bath towels would work great. I used a uhaul furnitire pad.

And yes I used hemming web that I ironed on. Works great!

You might not need to sew the fleece at all as it's not a normal woven fabric like cotton so shouldn't fray too much. You could use wundaweb but I find it only lasts a few washes before it disintegrates. Alternative is you could hand sew a rough hem. There's a few ideas here: http://m.wikihow.com/Hand-Sew-a-Hem
