Hello, all -- I'm a new guinea pig grandmom (because they're my daughter's pigs) and we're using fleece bedding. However, I am having a problem in that I can't get the fleece to allow moisture through. This seems to be true of both old blankets we've had for years and new anti-pill fleece I bought by the yard at JoAnn Fabrics the other day. The older blankets have been washed with fabric softeners many times, but not any time recently. The new stuff I've washed and dried about seven times in the last several days with no fabric softeners used. But every time I check, the moisture just pools on top. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any theories about the issue? We have very hard water at my house, I know that. And I have a High Efficiency washer that, in my humble opinion, does not get things as vigorously clean as I would prefer.

Anyway, any information or advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you!
Sarah

Hello Sarah

It often depends on the fleece i find the shinnier and softer the fleece the less it wicks away....
