I'm looking for some fleeces just over 140 cm long if possible. Anyone know of any off hand before I start hunting round the shops?

Thanks. :)

We've got a shops called B&M in this area (I think they are nationwide) they sell fleece 200cm x 250cm

I bought 200cm x 140cm pet fleece blankets from Dunelm a couple of weeks ago. They were £4.99 each in a couple of different designs.

Could you buy online, Sarah? I bought mine from eBay, they sell them by the roll so can cut off any length you need. Most are 60" (3 grids, with excess) wide.

A fabric/sewing/crafts shop would be among your best chances if you are shopping locally.

Thanks for the responses. :) It's a little experiment at the moment, so I don't want to spend too much if at all possible.

Basically, as I've mentioned before, my girls all struggle with an antibiotic-resistant UTI, which they've had hanging around for nearly 2.5 years now
(mallethead). The reason I've resisted fleece up to now is because it can only be washed at 40 degrees, and I honestly can't afford to buy enough Vetbed to fill the cage and change frequently (ie only Petlife Vetbed can be washed at high temperatures - I've looked into this in detail before).

I am now thinking that keeping them extra dry might be a trade-off in benefits, so I just want to try it out. I'm thinking I will put Citricidal (grapefruit seed extract) in the washing machine to try to disinfect it, which I've done before.

I have just bought the Asda fleece throw, which I hope is going to be the right sort of fleece (100% polyester). Have measured it pre-shrinkage, and done the water test so I can monitor how well it improves and wicks after every wash. Am hoping 3 washes and dries will do the job...

Just buy two. If the fleeces are bog standard ones you can get them for a few pound sfrom Primark

Thanks - yes, I'm going to just give the one I've bought a little 'road test', then get another if it seems to be working out for them. :)

If you have a pound stretcher near you, they do 200x250 fleeces for about £5. It might be bigger stores only though, the one in our small town doesn't do them

The first fleece went in last night, so fingers crossed it works out well (and I can disinfect it suitably). I was quite surprised by Holly's reaction, as they all hate Vetbed, but she started popcorning around the cage like a demented bucking bronco when she first set foot on the fleece! :))

Lovely to hear how well the fleece has gone down. Fingers crossed it works well for you too!

All is going well with my fleecey experiment so far, and I have bought some more Asda cheapo fleees. I still have a slight concern over the 40 degrees washing, but I'm putting some Citricidal in with the washing powder, which will helpfully kill off a lot of the germs.

As I thought it might though, the trade off has been that they are so much drier, which is a huge bonus to pigs with bladder issues. :)
