So today I was in poundland and I came across loads of different colours of polyester of pet fleece, puppy training pads and hand towels. I thought 'ah what the heck' and decided to give using fleece a go!
I have been busy nearly all afternoon (firstly furiously washing the fleeces) then making fitted cage liners, hammocks, pillows, a fleece jungle and piggy sleeping bags.
I changed out Gertie's cage and installed her lovely new fleece home.
Now I know lots of people have said that their piggies like living on fleece and enjoy having the colours in their cages changed etc but I really wasn't expecting over half an hour of popcorning! rolleyes
Gert is currently flopped out under her hammock on her new fluffy pillow (she never used to flop out before!) and every time she comes out to investigate she starts popcorning again! Poor love must be exhausted! (Do guinea pigs choose when to pop corn or is it an automaic behaviour - like a cat purring?)
Do any of you guys use fleece in your cages and if so what tips do you have for a first-time fleece user?
