I gave my pigs a bath today and as I was washing Ivan, my lonng haired pig, I noticed a problem. On his fir, about mid way down to his skin are little black spots attached. They don't appear to be on his skin and I don't know if they are living. Please tell me what I should do. They should be visible on the attached picture

Anyone with knowledge dealing with parasites and flees could help. What actions should I take? Do I need to visit a vet?

You'll need a vet visit to determine what parasite they are to make sure you get the correct treatment. Fleas are less common in guinea pigs , I believe they're more likely to be lice or mites.
The vet will either give you a spot on treatment to put on the back of his neck, or maybe a course of injections.
So the only way to know for certain how to treat is to head for the vets!
Good luck! :)

Thank you- the idea of lice makes me nervous and I will be contacting a vet as soon as possible
