I hope someone has some advice, the girlies cage is in the living room, they have vet bed in their cage which I change twice a week but every day I take is out and get rid of the poo,but the cage is full of tiny flies especially the end they use for a toilet, when I change their bedding I use discinfectant with boiling water to clean the cage, any advice on what I can do would be great, this has only been happening over the last 10 days or so,

You will need to clean them out more often to stop the flies as I suspect they are being drawn to the urine in the vet bed. Maybe try washing it every 2nd or 3rd day and see if that improves things?

They are being cleaned out every 3 days now,is there another type of bedding I could use until the warm weather is over

I use vet bed during the colder weather 8 months of the year :o During the summer I use newspaper and loads of hay on top. I found I was having to wash the vet bed in their summer hutches everyday ! :D

If I were you i'd just use newspaper during these hot months, (except for their bed area).and then change daily.
Two of my guineas only have newspaper down in the summer apart from their sleeping area and wee wee area,They have a constant supply of eating hay.they are really clean, my other two wee anywhere so I have just started to use Megazorb, and it is very absorbant,

It's obviousely the vetbed which is causing the problem :(will try newspaper, thanks for the help
