Citronella candles/smelly and fly papers :)

ive got citronella drops that i add to water and soak the cages in those before putting the bedding back in

So far I have not had flies near my cages (touch wood). However, flies have been a pest in the house and around the rubbish bins. >:(

I have the candles round my computer (not lit), cause the flies make me jump! ;) But so far none by me O0

Rabbits are by far the worst fly attractors, I had a gust rabbit staying with me this week and within 2 days of her stay she had flys in the corner of her cage that had layed eggs :( had to scrub out cage and give her bottom a complete to close for my like looking at :o luckly no maggots but had to clean cage out every day and wash the corners,, thank goodness for the warm weather drying it out,

Thank god you checked!

I hate flies they dont have any purpose but to land on poo oh and they are spider food there are millions in the house around the cages they drive me mad! This has become worse since the new bin scheme!

yes we have one this also. door closed with the netting over the windows, it has helped allot, but the kids keep leaving the door open,

i am thinking about getting those stringy things that go across doors, do they work?

Missed her post. :embarassed: Where would you get fly netting from? :)

Do you mean likea curtain of beads hanging from the top of the door? :)

I've found curtains of beads not very effective at keeping flies out of the house. I got some Fly net from my local diy store - in the garden section but also noticed for sale on ebay. I'm wondering whether to get some netting to put over the whole hutch cos I noticed a couple of flies got past the door net.

the company i clean for has the perfect green meshing which I use for over the shed door

my electric fly zapper is working over time flies are my biggest hate since losing a wonderful bun to fly strike it happens so quick, so all be warned look out for the damn things, give me spiders any day but flies ugh no

anyone having trouble getting replacement bulbs for them? Can only seem to get them on ebay but they never last :(

For one i put Rear Guard on all the buns, this year i used Beaphar Fly Free spray which works brill too...and it's cheaper lol

Then i have cut up fly nets and safety pinned them to the wire bits of the hutch, they are fab!

and then just try and keep everything clean, check the bunnies everyday especially Jake (no teeth bun, as he can't clean himelf aswell) the older bunnies aswell, and my long haired ones.

It's not too hard once you get into a routine ;D
