I thought I would let you know Flip Flops story

I got her from Gumtree. Someone was looking to rehome her due to her friend passing away. I was in a simular situation with Celery so I enquired. I was told she was a female piggie about two years old, black and white. She would come with a cage, food and sawdust. None of that I needed, but it would be handy to have for the first few days whilst she settled. I arrange a time for the lady to come over. Well I was in for a shock

The cage was disgusting, 2ft squareish maybe. No room for her to run about in. She had a water bottle that was green from algee. She had food thrown in, under her water bottle and not in a bowl. There was cob webs and slug markings in the cage.

Before I saw her, I should the lady Celery, who was out on the grass enjoying the day. Told her my plan about introducing them and she was happy.

The lady lifted off the house thing, that flipflop was hiding in. Well for starters she is black white and orange (tan/red). We asked her what her favourite veggies were, she spouted out some bits that weren't true (you could tell she was grasping for straws). I was told her lived in a barn as well...

We (mum and me) double checked that she was happy to hand her over to us, and she was. I told the lady she could ring/text/email me and I would give her updates on how she was.. I have heard nothing.

That day, I managed to grab her and have cuddles, it became very apparent she had never been handled!

So after a few weeks, here we are. She is now in a 6x2 c&c cage, fresh veggies every night, a warm bed to sleep in, clean fresh water.

I renamed her from her original name, to Felicity which very quickly became flipflop due to her complete unelegent way of lying down :)

I took her to the vets and gave her a check over, she is fine health wise and not pregnant or male (my two biggest concerns)

At the moment, she is indoor piggie and she seems happy with that :)

Thank goodness you rescued her and she has proper care and love now.

I agree- thank goodness you rescued her from such awful conditions- this lucky lady can count her blessings that you are her new owners

Poor Flip Flop, what terrible conditions, lucky you rescued her. You're a wonderful piggy mum, spoilt rotten!

What a very happy ending for the poor little piggy, good on you for giving her a good home :) We need pigtures asap :)

Oh she is really beautiful. Good for you :clap:for helping her have a lovely life

She is gorgeous. So pleased you got her.It is unbelievable how people keep them.IMy friend asked me to help her rescue two boys in a small dark wooden hutch.(2x1 foot). They had no hay and the hutch stank.I took them in overnight and they went into one of my spare cages.I know a rescue I trust so they collected them the next day.Would love to put the people that do thid into a tiny space and give them the bare essentials and a bucket
