So Flipflop has had a lump on her side, I noticed it at the weekend. It didnt seem to bother her too much so I got an appointment with a speicific Vet that I like to see. I took her and Baxter down there today and all was good. Vet checked her, said its a cyst and we can drain it today for her. Brilliant, I thought.

The vet rubbed some cream on to it, told me to wait back in the waiting area and I would be called through in about 10 mins. I got called through and got Flipflop out of her carry case. Vet was lovely as I was a bit squimish, she said she would do it in another room. She took Flip, and shut the door behind her. I was giving Baxter a cuddle when I heard all this screaming and squeeling coming from another room. My heart sank, "poor little girl, the cream must not have worked" was running through my head and I gave baxter a bit more of a cuddle. Then it went silent, and in came the vet with an angry Flip.

I asked the vet, was that her shouting and she said yes it was. Again my heart sank until the vet said

"She didnt feel the scalpel going in, the screaming and shouting was because one of the nurses tried to give her a cuddle....."

Thanks Flip.

Awww bless her. How is she doing today?

LOL! A couple of funny vet stories... once when Sundae was dealing with abscess issues, the vet took her in the back room for a moment to do a swab of the wound with one of the nurses. The kids and I were waiting in the exam room and kept hearing all this awful squealing from the back... the kids were horrified at what was being done to poor Sundae back there! When the vet brought her back in, I heard another squeal and realized that it wasn't her at all- turns out they were boarding a grumpy parrot back there who sounded a lot like a distressed guinea pig! The second story was when Linney got a large cyst on her back lanced and drained. She was a hugely friendly pig, but was also always quick to 'brrrr' if she was unhappy and to swing her hips around and try to make herself very intimidating. They took her into the back to lance/drain the cyst, and when they brought her back in the tech said, "She was really, REALLY angry. It was funny!" Poor Linney... she thought she was being intimidating! Instead they were all giggling at her!
