hot fox
Junior Guinea Pig
I had to rush my beautiful Aby to the vets yesterday morning, as she was making those awful chest congested clicking sounds 8-( I may be paranoid, but we lost Theo last year, he died in our arms after making those sounds
Theo had an allergic reaction, like an anaphaylictic shock (can't spell that!) The vet I saw seemed inexperienced in all things Piggle. We had to take our boy there six weeks ago, same surgery, different vet. She was very thorough, took his temp, checked his breathing rate and other vitals. This vet could not even hear the clicking sounds! There was a rumpus coming from upstairs, so it's not surprizing.
I told him what happened when we took Oscar, and he copied what the other vet had done, and gave my Flobble an anti inflammatory and an anti biotic injection, but he gave them in two doses, the original vet put it all in one syringe. Then he made her bleed 8-(
I told him Oscar had .8 ml once a day, (this was 6 weeks ago) turns out I was wrong, I have the original bottle of Baytril, and he was prescribed .4 every day. The label on the Baytril for Flobble has double the dose, and it has Oscar's name on, not Flobble! So am I right to question the medication?
Flobble today seems great, the clicking sound had gone by yesterday afternoon. I usually take them to a very experienced Piggle vet, but they're half an hours drive away and first thing in the morning, in an emergency, I have to rely on the local chaps. I paid £40 and am now not sure she needed treating at all, are these clicking sounds always dodgy?
And do I go ahead and put this Baytril down her neck? I think the dose is double what it should be, and I think he gave her too much injection too.
AHH! What shall I do?
Please help
Thanks!
