do your piggies have floor time? I have 2 young boars. I've bought an indoor pen and plan for regular floor time.

I do have laminated flooring so will probably put fleece down

Hi I gave my piggies floor time every day. And also whilst doing the major clean out on the weekend.
Good idea to put fleece or towels down. I hope you join them on the floor they will get used to you even more

I have a pen for chock to run in and he loves it...
I also have a box with two holes cut in to it so he can run through it or eat the hay inside or just skip that totally and eat the box...

Mine are only indoors at the weekend and they live in a pen in the dining room. They get floor time two or three times a day, for between 30 mins to an hour each time (depending in what we are doing). They are loose in the dining room which has no cables etc. They do poop on the carpet but they have never wee'd (we leave their pen and carry-box doors open and they go in there) they love playing under/ round the back of the floor length curtains and under the table and chairs is a favourite nap spot

Yeah, they get about 3-4 hours of run time when I'm off college/work or if I'm doing an evening shift and 1-2 hours when I'm at college or working :)

They are still hiding a lot. Will give them their first run time today!

Archie is on permanent floor time, he has the run of downstairs basically. There are certain areas he likes to filth up, so we have newspaper in those areas.

my 2 boys have floor time in a little run every day I put a old shower curtain down and the some towels . they have a great time

My three have floor time at least 5 times a week.
Like you we put down a fleece blanket with an outdoor metal run on it.
They do still need some shelters and hideys though, so the spaces isn't overwhelming.
We try to arrange things differently each time, and add in a few of the following; old cardboard boxes and bags, a tunnel or two, a hay box, a pigloo, a pile of fleeces or towels to burrow in etc. The kids set the run up so they get to choose how it looks each time, but they always leave a 'race track' around the edge of the run so the piggies can get up some speed when they are feeling athletic!

Mine have floor time every day. We have a wooden floor so I put fleece on down as Peanut can't master the art of walking on the slippery surface he does a kind of swimming motion. If they get wee on your laminate wipe it up before it dries, otherwise if there's any calcium in it it's very difficult to get the white mark off completely. My two like lots of hides and tunnels as they find a large floor space quite scary, I spread veggies around the fleece (usually breakfast) to encourage them to explore otherwise they run to the nearest hidey and stay there. They don't seem to realise they are supposed to enjoy floor time yet but I'm hoping they will eventually.

Just got them out :-) not doing anything but sitting there bless them

Ah bless them, they look very cute! When I first got my boys (7 months ago) and tried floor time, they would just run and hide and seemed desperate to get back to their cages. Now they love coming out! So I think it just takes time and a little encouragement so they start to feel secure in their surroundings. I have laminate floor, and bought a couple of large pieces of thin hardboard which I put down at each side of my living room, and their hideys go on there. They tend to run around the floor but always make their way back to the hardboard/hideys and do their poops and pees there, so it makes cleaning up much easier :D I also bought a couple of long tunnels which connect in different ways by using Velcro (these tunnels fold up flat so they are easy to store). My piggies love running along the tunnels and nipping in and out of the different exits/entrances (although in the earlier days they tended to hide in the tunnels a bit). They've got their confidence now and there's no stopping them :yahoo:
