I have 3 pigs. 2 of them were neglected/abused when they were babies so they’re obviously very scared of humans. I had them out on the floor on a few towels with food, hidies and their buddy marmalade. They were very scared but I think they enjoyed being out of their cage for the first time ever.
Was this a good idea or was it too soon maybe? Do you guys have any tips for bonding? They are 4 months old, they were born on the second of June

You need to let them guide you as to whether they are ready to be out for floor time. If they were scared and didn’t move, then it’s probably best to leave them to settle in a bit longer, but if they did eventually explore, then I’d take it slowly but let them explore a little.

They were running around and didn’t actually go in the hidies most of the time. They were all following wacht other around though

Hi!

You always have to take your cues from your piggies. If you feel that they have enjoyed being out and would be starting to explore more, then continue with regular run time.
Create a little ritual with the same words and melody for the transport to and fro, so they can learn to anticipate what is coming.
Using stuff from their cages that carries their scent around the new run or rubbing a rag carrying scent from their cage will mark it as their territory and will encourage exploration.
Later on once they have become more confident in their you can start with more enrichment.
