Floss, our oldest guinea has been acting a bit weird and so when I went to hold her I checked her over and saw that on her feet (near to the heel/ back bit- not all over feet) she has these things that sorta look like scabs but this is only happening on the front two paws.... Is this a serious matter? Also, Floss has somehow chipped one of her front teeth and I'm wondering whether we need to take action on this....?

dam i'm sorry for some reason the wrong link went in :red

as for her toofie.............is she eating ok? is she dribbling?
i'd cut up her veggies into strips to help her..........

it might be worth a quick visit to your vets tho to check out her feet and her teeth.........GOOD LUCK XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Our boy had this so we saw our vet and they advised it was nail growig through and she just cut it off and filed it down, it happens in older pigs apparently, it doesnt bother him atall.

Hard skin flabs (spurs) on the underside of the front paws are very common and nothing to worry about. You can cut them off, but not too close to live skin, please. http://www.guinealynx.info/feet.html#spurs

As long as her front teeth are still firm and she is eating normally, I would not worry; incisors grow back within days and they self sharpen once they come into contact with the opposite tooth. Only if a tooth is very wobbly or does not grow back straight do you need to see a vet.
