Hi all!

After seeing a large flowerpot turned on its side in a run on a photo on this site, I thought it looked a good idea so found one (a medium size terracotta one, it doesn't roll) and put it in the run in the corner.

I don't see who goes in it but somebody does cos I've found lots of poops in it amongst the hay.

But by far the best bit about it is how easy it makes bringing them all in! My Smudge and Truffle are the two who are shyest and run like hell when you go to pick them up so quite often it takes a while to catch them! (The other three will stand and let you pick them up). But now we've got the flowerpot, Smudge and Truffle run into it when I'm trying to catch them like it's some kind of refuge where I can't get them and just sit there! And then they stay in the flowerpot so I can pick them up! Easy peasy!

Can't remember whose pic it was but thanks to this site, bringing them in takes a lot less time! ;)

;D Glad you have found an easier way of catching Smudge and Truffle. :)

I think that might be one of my pictures - my lot love their flower pot especially if you stuff it full of hay & hide a few treats in there. If I mix a bit of parsley in with the hay I have all 4 pigs in that run rip out the hay in a frenzy looking for the parsley! The pots look nice too - better than plastic stuff. I have a constant battle with my daughter when it comes to changing about the 'furniture' she likes the bright plastic - I like the fiddlesticks & terracotta.

Both cute pics. What size of pot do you go for - i find it hard to tell from the pics?

The one in my pic is about 1ft high x 1ft diameter (30cm x30cm ish). It wasn't one I bought for the pigs - just one I had spare at the time which worked nicely. You can get them really cheap at garden centres now.

I use plant pots too! I get the plastic ones as they are sooo cheap I bought 3 for £1 in the pound shop. My piggies love them as they can roll them around and get in them and chew them!

They are all lovely pics! I so lurve the one with the ickle tootsies sticking out . . . :smitten:

Does it have to be terricota or can it be a ceramic pot that has patterns on it?

Help you with what? ? If you mean about the flower pot no it doesn't have to be terracotta, all it has to be is suitable for guineas e.g. not to big if it rolls it will squish them. :)

Oooh yes, I should think they do. I'm going to invest in a few more. I've got some plastic ones but not sure if they will move when piggie gets in.

I remember that posting, sooo cute and yes the little foot just showing :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
