Floyd the Bunny - please read the thread

I think that is a great idea! but it would have to be an ongoing thing....if Niki is agreeable, could you/she work out how much is needed per month etc and also it would be wise to have insurance for unexpected vet bills etc

The problem I see is that it could get "forgotton" about later on down the line and Niki is still left with an extra bun to fund :{
 
I can see no problems with helping out, if we can help out in anyway and keep floyd where he is, we know he will be well cared for, especially those people who have been to Niki's will know what I mean :)p

Firstly i would like to say a huge Thank you to Peter for the lovely idea of sponsoring Floyd & also thank you to Louise, Fiona, Claire & Bonnie however, i cannot accept monies from anyone & anyone else who may have contacted Peter without my knowledge regarding Floyd.

You each have your own fur-kids & families to care for & i am not a rescue; if i were that'd be different.

The cost of feeding Floyd is immaterial; it's pence but if he were to become ill thats a completely different matter & also i personally believe he should be paired with a female.
Yes he is happy on his own (he does binky but he's never been given any other choice & i can't use monies sent by sponsors for Floyd's upkeep to finance him being neutered & then any post op problems that may arise. Then there's his wife & the cost of her.......

I know Peter's intentions were from the heart & i am in no way throwing kindness back in his or anyone elses face.

I live my life with cash only; if i dont have the cash for whatever then i cant have it - whatever it may be.
This may also set a precedent for anyone on the forum to ask the same "well you all did it for Niki" etc etc.

I hope you all understand & thank you again, i really do appreciate the thought & offers.

I understand Niki. I know we've spoken more on PM. Keep us posted on how things are going with Floyd. Have you put him on rabbit rehome?

We all just wanted floyd to stay where he belongs, but hey if you feel it's time to move on then that is your choice! I am proud to have suggested this but I do not feel in anyway disheartened by the fact you feel it's time to move on and that you do not appreciate the effort, which I know you do! I just feel a little saddend for you and floyd 8...

It's not a question of "moving on." To accept money for him from folk on here would be a solution & whilst it'd mean Floyd could stay here he wouldn't have the option of having a wife; he would have to settle for his plastic ball & why should he? The bond between a pair of buns is lovely, as you know - how can i or anyone deny him the chance of that?

The circumstances surrounding me & him are "complicated" (I'm not explaining on the forum).
What seemed like the ideal situation for him in May when my step-daughter finally admitted she didn't want him hasn't worked out & with hindsight i wish my friend had never asked to have him.
I'm not happy & she knows i'm not but i'm an adult & will deal with my feelings as i will deal with my emotions when Floyd leaves.

There will be someone out there who can offer him a lovely home with a wife; that's what i'd dearly love to see - him loving his own kind instead of having to make do with a plastic ball :)

Again i thank everyone for wanting to help keep Floyd here but taking your money just doesn't "sit right" with me - i can't change who i am.

If i have offended anyone, i apologise.
 
Totally agree Niki. Just look at Tiara she was an older bun and she found a mate in her older years. It will happen! We just got to campaign for Floyd to find one.

Tiara's owners were found through gumtree. I know its frowned upon but you could still home check them etc etc.

Very true Louise. :) He is as yet un-neutered & i would have to discuss this with my friend (his owner). She has said she would have him done but she may have changed her mind with her impending house move
