Fluffing Up When Eating

Hi!

Athena, my piggy, always fluffs up/ puffs up when she eats her daily vegetables.I have always thought it was to tell my other pig, Biscuits, to stay away and they were her vegetables, but recently I read that puffing up is a sign of pain. Is this normal? Biscuits doesn’t fluff up like this.

Absolutely normal, nothing to worry about

Our girls always do it. I think it is to make them look big when eating so a defence mechanism. Our Abby looks funny as her normally pointy fur looks fluffy lol

my boys do it its hilarious! it is really funny to watch them try to get a big as possible.

One of my pigs does this when he eats veggies. It’s so cute. My other pigs have all been fuzzy in their fur texture but Peanut is smooth-haired which is maybe why we notice it more.
Bless him, this is when he achieves his fuzzy status!

My sow does it every time she has something tasty that she needs to defend. It doesn't work because she's with a boar who's twice her size. But she still has a go

My piggies both do this! Esspesically if it is in the morning, I think its normal as neither of mine are ill (they had a vet checkup a couple weeks ago)
