Now that we are having brighter days, I am getting more and more terrified at summer approaching and fly strike. I'd never heard of it before the piggies but now realise that this is likely what claimed our family cat years ago and now I'm even more terrified!

This will be my first summer with the piggies, what products do you use to prevent flies? I want to be prepared! I've been looking at flypaper/strips and fly zappers on Amazon but would really appreciate knowing exactly what you have used in the past as there as so many options out there.

Also, is it safe to use rearguard or something similar? I read differing opinions on it and it's all new to me....

Finally, could I use some sort of mosquito netting on a cage indoors or is that a no-no because of heat?

Sorry for all the questions, and sorry for asking this question in February...I'm just a worrier :(

I've had piggy's for 2 years and they have never had fly strike, if you are concerned look for something that does not contain fly repellent. Good luck finding something, sorry I'm not much :)help.
