Hello,
Just wanted to update after my piggy Maisie suffered with this over 1 week ago. Luckily it was caught very early & after a trip to the vet & many sprayings of F10, i am happy to report tha Maisie is doing well. If i am honest i dont think she is 100%, only as she seems quiet, but maybe her skin feels tight due to her bum being shaved.
She is eating well which is good & wheeks when i approach the hutch. Anyway Maisie & i wanted to say thanks for all your warm wishes))))
I am trying to post some pics so you can see a piggy of 2 halves! ( but ths doesnt seem easy!

Great news! I had to shave a piggy at work the other week, poor little thing! It didn't have flystrike as such, but had fly eggs. She also had diarrhoea and got herself into a bit of a mess, hence the shave!

She was at the vets for a few days, but sadly died at home, but at least her owners got back from their holiday and had some time with her before she went. She was very old :(

That sounds awful. I can't understand why anyone would let their piggy get into such a state, especially if they were very old, they need even more care & attention:(

It happened over night, she was being looked after by a neighbour. She got diarrhoea and became lethargic, didnt move and the flies laid eggs. The eggs hadn't had chance to hatch out or anything. The owners were great. She was in with us for 3 days and they wanted to treat her with everything possible.

That's great news! Glad that Masie is feeling better! :(|) The guinea pig in your avatar (not sure if that is Masie:p) looks a bit like my Ninja! Haha!
