I'm looking for some info on Guinea Pig folliculitis! I've been browsing online, but can't seem to find anything that isn't in 'vet-speak' ahaha :)) The main questions I have are:
Does folliculitis in pigs cause any hair loss?
What drugs can be used to treat it?
What are the doses and duration of said drugs/
Thanks :D

Not something I have come across in pigs, though a quick Google search tells me it can be caused by fungal or bacterial infection in humans. Has your vet told you that your pig has it? I will tag @Abi_nurse in case she has more information.

What makes you believe you little one has folliculitis? This is a general loose term used to describe inflammation and infection of hair follicles. Piggies don't generally get it but they certainly can. However piggies are more likely to get fungal or mite problems when it comes to skin, as well as sebaceous cysts and abscesses none of which we generally called folliculitis.

This isn't a real pig, it's for my RHA papers lol  It regards a sow who has been losing her hair for 3 months - she has been treated correctly with fungal/anti-parasitic treatments which haven't helped, and almost all her hair is gone, rather than just along her sides. I'm stumped so I'm trying to cover all bases lol:hb:

A skin biopsy and blood sample would be the next step in those sort of cases to rule out or in generalised folliculitis, skin infections, endocrine (hormone) problems.
