Food Fight!

Well...okay, not really. I just gave the boys some mangetout to try, they were a tad suspicious so I figure they've probably not seen it before. Eventually I pretended not to be watching, they tried it, surprise! It's a hit.

So they're both sitting underneath a carrot cottage and Comet climbs over Blitzen to be on the OTHER SIDE of the cottage. Why? Who knows. He probably had his reasons. So Comet finds another piece of mangetout and drags it into the cottage. And no more than two nibbles into it, Blitzen looks over, and in my head I'm imagining him shrugging and saying "yolo!"...before he yanks it out of Comet's mouth and demolishes it.

Comet's now moved to the other carrot cottage in protest. Brothers, eh?

And we're at it again tonight! First up, it's the blueberries. They each got a blueberry, except that really, Comet got his blueberry, Blitzen wanted Comet's blueberry, Blitzen ignored his own blueberry, Comet got ahold of Blitzen's blueberry, and it was almost handbags at dawn. I gave Comet a carrot to distract him (one of the little ones). He dragged it into the cottage with him and they're now sitting sharing a carrot.

Just a couple of months ago I was paranoid that I was going to give them new housing and they were never going to talk to each other again. Instead, I got a clear food hierarchy (Blitzen eats his own food, plus whatever of Comet's food that looks good. Comet gets what's left of his own food), an insistence on sleeping next to each other (Comet basically curls himself up on his side, then Blitzen tends to fall asleep on top of him), and two very guilty looking pigs every time I enter the room. I'm on to you, boys.

(I might be the only one who finds it funny that Comet's actually head honcho, but you'd never know it where the food is concerned, but it does amuse me. Lots.)
