Food help!

Because I'm completely new to piggies I'm also clueles.

I have bought books and also been here reading.

When we went to pick up Delilahs essentials including her food, we were told by the pet shop that they feed their piggies on Gerty, but evetually its important to swap onto nuggets but for the time being keep on Gerty so it doesnt upset her stomach in any way. So i bought a big bag i think it was 5kg and around £10.

I just dont know what to do for the best weather to keep on gerty like the shop keeper said even though I'm reading terrible reviews, or change all together and go onto nuggest? or something else all together? i dont really care that ive already bought her food, i can buy more, and rather would if thats the right thing to do?

If you have just spent £10 on gerty food carry on using it. When you are over half way through get a bag of the good nuggets and feed one third nuggets and two thirds gerty. Slowly change over so you are just feeding nuggets. I have done this with my girls and they are chomping away on Harringtons now. I tried to be clever and get them all to eat one sort. No, Bertie will only eat Burgess, he throws Harringtons out of the bowl. And the girls, guess what throw Burgess out and will only eat Harringtons. I had mixed the 2 bags so I spent most of last night sorting the food outrolleyes

I would use Burgess Excel black current & oregano nuggets.

When I got billy he was fed on a horrendous looking food, I put him straight into burgess with a bit of his usual stuff mixed in & he chose to ignore his old food & eat the new. I literally threw his old food out the following day.

I don't think changing upsets them too much it didn't upset him at all! You're doing fine try not to worry, I would buy what you want to and mix the two together. Xx
