So I just bonded a pair of female cavies. They are getting along great! Still working out dominance though. It's going to be Peanut for sure. Ah, poor Kiko, Peanut can be such a sassy pig. :)
So currently I have their food/hay/water, in one area. Should I move it to separate sides of the cage or is it alright to leave it how it is. I have a divider in the middle, planning on removing it tomorrow. Trying to make sure the piglets won't hurt each other. I know, I know, it's not the natural way to bond. I'm a paranoid mama. If you have any other advice that would be much appreciated!

Yes piggies, I know, the food bowl is empty! I just cleaned the cage and I am filling them up. Lol, they are yelling at me! :D That's how I have it set up currently. Kiko, the smaller piggy, is standing where the divider goes. Peanut is doing very well with her!

Hugs and Kisses,

Unfortunately I can't see the photo so I don't know your exact set up.

I tend to have food areas in different parts of the cage. I have a hay area at each end and a bowl of pellets and a water bottle there too. Then they have to go next to each other unless they want to.

Thank you Jaycey! That's a big help! :D

Haha, I meant Don't need to go next to each other unless they want to. Can you tell I hadn't had my first caffeine hit then!

Good luck ! I hope they become good friends :D

How's it going? Hope still going well.

That's awesome, you should be fine to keep the divider out now :)
I hope so! I have only seen a few nips so far from Peanut, but they seem to be doing great. I'm kind of nervous to leave the divider out, I don't want Peanut to hurt Kiko while I am sleeping! There is a huge size difference!
Oh bless them! :luv:

Update! Removed the divider and Peanut and Kiko are enjoying it! I can hear them talking and running around, can still hear Peanut nipping every one in a while though *sighs*. I am really scared! I hope they get along! IMG_20180309_212056.webp

Update! The Guinea Pigs have survived the night! :D Kiko was up and playing and Peanut was off eating hay! Then when they saw I was there they both came up squeaking! They are playing in floor time!
