Does anyone notice a change in food intake between these seasons?

Or do you think indoor piggies eat more than outdoor piggies?

I defiantly have seen an increase over the food intake over the winter , mine are indoor pigs but go outside everyday when the temperature is comfortable for them but I can say with no doubt they eat more in the winter .. not sure if this is how they get their body temperature up?(much like horses?)

Mine are all indoor pigs an l can't say l have noticed any change with the seasons

I noticed when it was really cold (freezing overnight and not much more during the day) that they ate less pellets. Hay and veg intake was the same but never cleared their pellet bowls.

We had the opposite - in the recent cold snap the girls were clearing all their pellets and much more quickly. They also seemed hungrier for hay and veggies. They seem to have slowed down since the weather has been milder.

I don't see a difference as mine are indoor pigs but I could understand an increase in the colder weather as they need more calories to stay warm.

As my guinea pigs are outdoors, they eat a lot more in summer (as I try and give them cooler food)
but in winter they eat less vegs but more hay

That's what I've been finding. I'm trying everything to increase their appetite.

I think mine are eating more hay (they're inside piggies) but when it's nice weather they are out on the grass, so would eat that instead. I am having to give them extra to stop their weight dropping, especially the eight year old
