Jenwah
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi
Gertrude has dental issues and she's been the vets for an X-ray to see if it's anything else. All clear, vet has given me w few more weeks to try and fatten her up and if still no gain or dropped (will take her back before) but then they will take bloods.
I am trying to stick to a good food plan, but it's proving a bit difficult for me.
Can anyone help me with what they would do? Or do currently.
Do you feed the pigs are certain times, if so what times and what do you feed?
I have currently, unlimited hay, with redi grass as a treat
Pellets in a separate bowl, then in the morning before work I give them about 300g of fresh grass
Then when am back home, I give them my veg medley - parsley, romaine lettuce, Apple, carrot, sweet corn, radicchio, grass, peppers all mixed up, with a little bowl on the side within porridge oats.
I have been giving them some muesli but only very small portions and don't leave the bowl in with them, and j don't do it often, I heard it it was quite fattening.
Can anyone help or advice me on better food to give or if what am doing is ok?
I did for a few days, was giving her 20ml s day of recovery ( 5ml 4 times a day about every 3/4 hours)
I just want her to put weight on but an sturggling. Always think am doing something wrong. She doesn't seem to bothered with her pellets either now which is concerning me
Please help
Thanks
Jenny
