Hi guys!

Me again, sorry!

For the last two days Smokey and Bandit haven't seemed to touch their pellets or there dried mix. This morning, after a cage clean and shift around the dried mix bowl was tipped over, but nothing much eaten.

What should I do? They get plenty of hay and veggies, am I giving them too much of that to make them not want the dried food? I do think maybe i'm over doing the veggies, but they seem to eat it, if they don't I remove it, ovviously. Or should I get another brand to try incase they are fusspots?

I haven't weighed them yet, they are still a bit skittish and I don't want to freak them out, am going to find a suitable container to weigh them in (I have flat scales and I have a feeling they'd peg it! lol) and i'm going to start keeping a weight chart from this weekend.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated :))

Hehe maybe mine are fusspots too then, and i may be giving them too much veg too as they don't eat that much dried food.

But i'm under the impression that is better for the piggies to eat mainly veg and hay before they eat dried food?!

I was hoping that might be the case! I'm just flapping they aren't getting enough lol!

You give about 50g/1cupful of mixed veg per piggy per day in as many servings as you like; hay as much as they can eat and pellets topped up until they are about 6-9 months old, depending on their growth, then slowly reduced to 1 handful per piggy per or day or none at all.

You may find this thread very informative.

I had to go through several feeds before I found one that the girls really liked - they would eat it for a few days, and then stop eating it!

I now feed a 50/50 mix of Wagg Optimum and Wagg Crunch, and they eat it all, and seem to enjoy it.

But as long as they are getting a variety of veggies and unlimited Hay, I wouldn't worry too much. :)
